Social Salon Rooms

One of the best parts of 12th Night is being able to hang out with friends and chat.

We have some time set aside at An Tir’s Ethereal 12th Night just for you to see your friends and catch up. There will be two ways to socialize via Salons (dedicated Zoom chat rooms): Themed Salons where there is a general topic of discussion and General Salons where people can meet up for free-form social discussions.

Themed Salons

The Ca’ d’Oro Italian Salon: for those interested in chatting with others on the topic of period Italian pursuits and personas.

The Scribal Salon: for those who want to chat about scribal topics and/or paint along with other scribes.

The Research Salon: for those interested in talking about various issues relating towards research of topics related to the SCA.

The Culinary Salon: for those who want to chat on all topics related to Culinary pursuits.

The Bardic Salon: for those who want to chat on topics related to bardic pursuits.

The Costuming Salon: for those wanting to chat with their fellow Costuming enthusiasts about topics relating to costuming.

The Largesse Salon: for those who want to talk about topics related to largesse making.

The BCE Bash Salon: for people interested in the material culture / culture, Arts and Sciences, Martial Skills of the world before 1st Century CE.

The Seneschal’s Chat: for those who want to chat on topics related to topics related to the Seneschalate.

The Embellishers Guild: The Embellisher’s Guild will be holding challenges and activities all day and everyone is welcome! See https://embellishers.antir.org for more detailed information about what they have planned!

The Marshal’s Chat: for those who want to chat with fellow marshals on marshal related topics.

The Exchequer’s Chat: for those learning more about financial-related topics and how they’re handled in the SCA.

General Salons

In addition to the themed salons, there will be four general salons for people to meet their friends. Each of the general salons will have room names to make it easier for you to arrange meetups. The general salons are:

When checking in for a salon, please specify which salon you wish to be sent to.

One of our favorite 12th Night pastimes is seeing folks in the halls or in court and asking them to tell us about the amazing things they are wearing or the projects they are working on.

This year, we will have show and tell time ONLINE at Ethereal 12th Night!

All are welcome to share their recent projects, both completed and in process.

We are anticipating hosting 2 main categories:

(1) Wearable A&S (clothing, accessories, cosmetics, armor, etc)
(2) Useful Items (boxes, shield, trim, etc.)

Welcome Point is Gate and Newcomer’s Corner for the Ethereal 12th Night! Come one and all, so we can welcome you, and help you find your way!

Collect your virtual site token, suitable for all aetheric display of your travels to this most unique 12th Night celebration. Available for the Book of Faces or for a Zoom background.

Experienced SCA members will be present to answer questions large and small during all the hours that Gate is open.

A Scavenger Hunt will be available with a participation prize of an illuminated piece by an An Tir Scribe.

And please join us to share your stories of How to Become Notorious in the SCA. What was your favorite practical joke? How about a blunder that you now tell about around the camp fire… What’s your favorite Squire Skippy story? Make us laugh and look forward to more shenanigans when we see each other in person again. The WOAWs will be judging for the best story and the best entry will receive Word Fame and the prize of a unique Notorious SCA mask
